Air Doctor! Not my only air filter recommendation, but truthfully I only recommend 3 brands.

Most air filters are not worth the money, and cannot provide the level of filtration powerful enough to make a meaningful impact in the quality of your indoor air.

If you do or have any of these circumstances in your home you need an @airdoctorpro or one of the approved filters on the Low-Tox Database:

❌Burn Candles (even beeswax ones)

Household cleaners and personal care products which we all have and use emit VOC’s (volatile organic compounds) some of which are classified at toxic and hazardous under US federal law.

One study showed, in fact, that the use of these types of products inside our homes can rival the toxic VOC’s of vehicle emissions 🚙💨🫢 (PMID: 29449485)

Small children, especially crawling babies are more susceptible to these VOC’s/ contaminated indoor air and need to be protected because their detox pathways are not fully developed, and pound for pound they are more impacted by environmental toxicants than their adult counterparts.

As mentioned in the reel, there are critical periods during pregnancy where fetal brain development is directly impacted by air quality, so if you are pregnant or want to be, prioritizing an air filter is critical.

They are to be expected.

But I create content for the people who vote for morality, empathy, human rights, and democracy over all AND also happen to believe that there is a hell of a lot more we need to be doing to:

✅Decrease rising infertility rates
✅Stop harming our hormones with untested and unsafe ingredients in the products we are sold
✅No longer accept that anything having to do with our health is simply “unexplainable”
✅Stop industry-funded research that is designed to exonerate itself for the harm it knowingly inflicts on consumers

I could go on and on.

Helping you to be smarter consumers of safer products is the best way I know how to fight the status quo that doesn’t want you looking at petrochemicals, and synthetic hormone disruptors in your every day products and pushing back.

I’ve long been disgusted by the skinfluencers and dermatologists who have ignored good research on non-monotonic dose response (because they don’t look at research) and told fans and followers how safe their conventional products are when they don’t have the first clue about it.

Greenwashing in the “clean” and “non-tox”

Greenwashing in the “clean” and “non-tox” space is so prevalent — it really should be criminal!

We have to support and shop the brands that are doing better, and making safer products when they very clearly don’t have to.

I created the Low-Tox Database for everyone, but especially moms who are often tasked with making all the buying decisions in the household, who need a shortcut to know what’s truly low-tox so they aren’t wasting 💰 on brands who are cutting corners, and greenwashing their marketing.

My standards are high. Much higher than the EWG’s and don’t even mention the embarrassment that is the Yuka app

These apps fall incredibly short with their ingredients data, they cater to brands who pay to play, and in some cases don’t even flag “fragrance” as an ingredient of concern 😳

You deserve better.

And you could certainly spend the kind of money I’ve spent to study and understand environmental toxins and ingredient toxicity, and keep up with the research and read every company’s COA’s for their products, and just generally eat, sleep and breath ingredient lists
